USB Ports Not Reacting - Troubleshooting USB Not Reacting Problems

USB not responding? When you plug a device to the USB ports, but your computer seems to don't detect it. This is a very annoying problem which bothers a lot of people. How can we fix this error? Normally this error come into two cases. You need to follow the steps below to get rid of it.

Find several USB devices. Plug one to the ports at a time and test all of them. If some of the them can be recognized by the computer then you should go to CASE 1. If all of them cannot be recognized and the USB ports are not working, you should go to CASE 2.

Case 1
In this case, the USB device driver is not installed correctly or it is already corrupted. When new hardware is attached to the computer, you need to install driver for it first. Because driver is used for connecting the hardware with Windows system. Every piece of hardware connected to a computer must have a driver to be recognized by Windows system and be able to work properly. You need to update the corresponding one for the device.

Case 2
IF you attach the devices to the computer and the ports do not respond at all, we can come to a conclusion that the USB 2.0 driver is damaged or outdated. Why? Because it is used by Windows for recognizing USB devices. If it's damaged, Windows will not be able to detect the hardware and the ports will not respond at the desktop. The only way to fix the problem is update the USB 2.0 driver.
